Taking a great photo of the Aurora Borealis in Iceland is all about planning. It’s about scouting your locations, knowing how to navigate the rocky landscape in the dark, reading the clouds. You need to know your camera like a soldier knows a rifle, and you need a rock-solid tripod. You need time, and patience, and you have to very OK with being very cold.
